Oh Lord,
Why is it so hard to be honest to you?
I lie to myself, I treat you the fool.
You know my all
Hear my thoughts, words, my attitudes.
You see it all
But still I hide
Convinced of my deception
The Fool I am cries
“you wont know it for it is mine”
Oh my sorrow, help me trust
To use you for my goodness
To seek your holy face.
Hiding in failures
I only grow worse
Build me up in you
Secure me in your holes
These scars are only love
Spilled for my poor soul
Help me not to hide
To know my failures as you do
And view them vile as do you
Give me your eyes
I want to know your will
Help me to be more like you
Throwing off all that I am
The need I have grows greater still
Secure me in your holes
These scars are only love.
I have a great need for Christ; I have a great Christ for my need.

Love is Lord of All
The world in constant change
Maintains a harmony,
And elements keep peace
Whose nature is to war.
The sun in car of gold
Draws forth the rosy day,
And evening brings the night
When Luna holds her sway.
The tides in limit fixed
Confine the greedy sea;
No waves shall overflow
The rolling field and lea.
And all this chain of things
In earth and sea and sky
One ruler holds in hand:
If Love relaxed the reigns
All things that now keep peace
Would wage continual war
And wreck the great machine
Which unity maintains
With motions beautiful.
Love, too, holds people joined
By sacred bond of treaty,
And weaves the holy knot
Of marriage's pure love.
Love promulgates the laws
For friendship's faithful bond.
O happy race of men
If Love who rules the sky
Could rule your hearts as well!

The Sad State of the World
This post is going to be quick since I am running off to work, but I promised to post so I will!
Over the past two days I have come to realize the sad state the world is in. I don't want this post to turn into a debate over prop 8, though if you want to debate that I would be more than willing to elsewhere. Apparently, the bible ends after Jude to a lot of people today. I have been told numerous times in the past 2 days that God doesn't judge because he is loving. I couldn't disagree more, God judges because God is Love. The bible clearly establishes that He is Love, and it clearly states he judges (COME ON READ REVELATION.) If he didn't ever judge there would be no "judgement day and no heaven or hell.
Also, It appears that believing in a truth that is concrete, not relative makes you a "close minded bigot" and a "hypocrite." To me, it seems that todays society pushes a relative idea of truth, and by believing it, to me it appears that is being closed minded. And if I am a bigot for backing christian principles, then I am fine with it, your definition of bigot is incorrect and I will take it as praise. By your logic, both Jesus and Paul were bigots. That is a group I would not be ashamed EVER to be associated with.
I have also been told that discriminating is always wrong. Those who know me will be familiar with my position on the issue and familiar with my example. Discrimination based on certain things, ethnicity, sex, and other things such as that are wrong. (note how i am hesitant to use the word always even here) But think about this, you are the proud parent of a 2 year old daughter. You want to go on a date with your spouse so you begin to search for a babysitter for the night. Two people show up at your door willing to take the job. One is a 45 year old man, who you recognize as having been a registered sex offender. The other person who shows up happens to be a 19 year old college student attending a prestigious college in the area. Based on the fact that you should never discriminate, you would have to flip a coin for who gets the job. You can't say that the teenage girl is likely going to be a better baby sitter, that would be going against everything you believe-- you are discriminating...how dare you?! I hope you realize how crazy that is.
Time to Go...but GOD IS LOVE (you will understand why i say that after my next post so check back)

Life From A Dying Savior
I will post something of my own later today, but this was emailed to me today and I liked it so here it is.
"Nothing puts life into men like a dying Savior. All other topics in Holy Scripture are important, and none of them are to be cast into the shade. But the death of the Son of God is the central sun of all these other minor luminaries. May this house be utterly consumed with fire before the day should come here when there should be given an uncertain sound about the atonement. This is not merely a doctrine of the church; it is the doctrine of the church. Leave this out, and you have no truth, you have no Savior, and you have no church."--Charles Spurgeon

A Prayer for Man
Oh my God,
I need thee now
Here in this hour, this place
Give me a mouth to speak your words
Ears to hear your voice
And a heart willing to do both
But also Lord,
Give me more than words,
A life that shows so much more,
To demonstrate your love,
Not for me, but through me.
The watching world waits,
How will I act?
Not my will, but yours.
They don’t need me,
But I need them.
Help them be my passion,
While you, my obsession.
To your name be the glory,
Forever and ever
Amen.
I need thee now

Give me a mouth to speak your words
Ears to hear your voice
And a heart willing to do both

A Prayer for Wisdom
Oh Great God,
Why have you gone to such great lengths to hide yourself,
Your creation is all around. you the master,
Why not claim your work, sign nature, remove all doubt,
Why make us live, seek, learn to love?
You created us, so why not shape us, mold us completely?
I fear the trials, hold my hand, make me move,
I don’t want to live this life but have you live it for me.
Could it really be, that this most blatant curse
Is secretly your greatest gift to me,
That I may live, live by me, through and for you?
Make me wise
Help me find joy in correction
Make me realize you are working
Making me grow, changing my will
This is my desire
To grow in the knowledge of you
To apply it, to grow wise
To be a light to the lost
To know how to lend a hand
To mend the broken heart
To give a caring word
To be like your son
Lord grant these things upon me
I am willing, the heart desires, the mind aches
Make me, break me, take me,
Now.
